This easy strawberry sauce is the perfect way to use up an overabundance of fresh summer strawberries. Perfectly sweet and tangy, you’ll want to pour this sauce over everything!

Any recipe that calls for 3 ingredients or less almost always grabs my attention.
I’m a lazy cook. There, my secret’s out. 😉
Seriously, tho guys. Summers are so crazy around here, I’m always on the look-out for easy, no-stress recipes that call for few ingredients and even less time to make it.

This basic strawberry sauce has been a family-favorite recipe for years now. My mom’s been making it every summer since before I can remember.
She would always go out to the strawberry farm, buy a TON of fresh strawberries, and then come home and whip up batch after batch of this amazing strawberry sauce.

I couldn’t even TELL you how many things I’ve used this strawberry sauce on: Waffles, pancakes, ice cream, pound cake, biscuits, cheesecake….even by the spoonful. That good, you guys.
When I was a kid, in the summertime I would always look forward to Wednesdays because we always had waffles every Wednesday morning. And I knew that, without a doubt there would always be tons of this strawberry sauce, and piles of whipped cream sitting atop my morning waffles.

Best. Breakfast. Ever.

This strawberry sauce is the perfect way to use up any extra strawberries you might have on hand. You can also easily double or even triple it for larger batches.
Ingredients include: Fresh strawberries, sweetener, and lemon juice.
Then, you’ll just combine ’em all in a saucepan, bring it to a boil, then simmer until the berries are soft and the sauce is slightly reduced and thickened.

The sauce will be a bit more on the juicy/runny side, but this is ok—the strawberry juice is just amazing!

My amazing grandma, who knows my huge love for strawberries recently brought over TWELVE QUARTS of locally-grown fresh strawberries for me.
I was pretty much speechless with joy. Mostly because my mouth was full of strawberries. 😉

Obviously, the first thing I had to make was this strawberry sauce. It had been wayyyy too long since I’d had it. 🙂

I’ve insanely been working my way through them, but I’m still on the lookout for ANY recipe starring this gorgeous berry. Any recipe requests?? I’ve got enough strawberries to feed an army. Y’all are welcome to come over and help me out. 😉
That is, if I don’t eat them all plain first.

Try this strawberry sauce this summer while strawberries are still at their peak. It’s amazing over just about anything! Promise.

Ultimate weekend waffles here you come. 😀
