- Tons of flaky, buttery layers - A rich and tangy buttermilk flavor - Minutes to make and only a few basic ingredients required
- All-purpose flour - Baking powder - Granulated sugar - Kosher salt - Unsalted butter - Heavy cream - Buttermilk
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Work butter into flour mixture until crumbly.
Pour heavy cream and buttermilk over flour mixture and fold until a shaggy dough forms.
Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently knead several times until dough comes together. Pat dough out to 1-inch thickness and cut into 4 pieces.
Stack 4 dough pieces on top of one another and gently press back down to 1-inch thickness.
Use a 3-inch biscuit cutter and cut 6 biscuits out of dough. Place biscuits on a sheet pan so that they are touching each other. Place pan in freezer to chill biscuits 15 minutes.
Remove pan from freezer and brush biscuits with additional heavy whipping cream. Bake biscuits at 425F 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Enjoy!
