2-Ingredient Slow-Cooker BBQ Pulled Chicken

This simple BBQ pulled chicken cooks entirely in the crockpot and hungry game-day guests won't believe that it comes together with only 2 ingredients!

  • 3 lbs chicken breasts
  • 2 to 2-1/2 cups barbecue sauce*
  • Buns for serving


  1. Place chicken breasts in a 3-qt slow-cooker. Pour 2 cups barbecue sauce over top. Cover and cook on low 4-6 hours or until chicken registers 165F.
  2. Transfer hot chicken to a large cutting board. Using two forks, shred chicken. Transfer shredded chicken back to slow-cooker and if desired, pour an additional 1/2 cup barbecue sauce over top. Cover and continue cooking chicken on low 1 hour to let the flavors meld together.
  3. Serve pulled chicken in warmed and split buns.

Recipe Notes

*Feel free to use your favorite kind of barbecue sauce.
**As the recipe calls for, you may use an additional 1/2 cup barbecue sauce after shredding the chicken to give it more flavor. This is optional.
