Ingredients

French Toast

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon chai spice*
  • 8 slices day-old french bread
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced

Cider Glaze

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

French Toast

  1. In a large bowl, whisk milk, cream, eggs, agave, vanilla, and chai spice until smooth. Dip bread pieces in egg and then place overlapping in a greased 9x13 baking pan. Drizzle any remaining egg mixture over top of bread.

  2. In a medium skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat until melted. Add apples to pan and saute several minutes until apples are just beginning to soften. Arrange apples around french toast in pan. 

  3. Bake french toast at 350F 20-25 minutes or until top is golden and liquid is set. Remove from oven and cool slightly

Cider Glaze

  1. In a small bowl, whisk glaze ingredients until smooth. Drizzle over french toast and serve warm!
