Golden Applesauce Oatmeal Cookies

The best oatmeal cookies ever. Moist and chewy with soft golden raisins, smooth applesauce, and tender, nutty oats.

  • 2 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1-3/4 cups white whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup golden raisins


  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • 2. In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and coconut sugar. In a separate small bowl, whisk butter, applesauce, and eggs until smooth. Add liquid mixture to dry mixture and stir until stiff and combined. Stir in golden raisins.
  • 3. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and gently flatten with the bottom of a glass. Bake in preheated oven 11 minutes. The cookies will be very soft. Cool cookies on baking sheet 5 minutes before transferring to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.
  • Yield: 18 large cookies
  • Store cookies at room temperature up to 2 days.
