Ingredients

In a large bowl or stand mixer, dissolve yeast in water. Mix in eggs, honey, salt, and bread flour. Knead dough until smooth and elastic then allow to rise until doubled.

Make the dough

Punch risen dough down and turn onto a floured surface. Divide dough into 4 equal pieces.

Roll each dough portion out into an 18-inch rope and lightly dust ropes with flour. Pinch ends of dough ropes together.

Begin braiding the bread by grabbing the right-middle dough rope and bringing it all the way across to the left.

Continue the braid by grabbing the far-right dough rope and moving it to the center of the dough ropes.

Now repeat the braid to the right by grabbing the left-middle dough rope and moving it all the way across to the right.

Continue the braid by grabbing the far-left dough rope and moving it to the center of the dough ropes. Repeat the braid until you reach the end of the dough ropes.

Transfer bread to a parchment paper-lined sheet pan. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired. Allow bread to rise until doubled in size.

Bake bread at 375F 30-35 minutes until a deep golden brown. Allow bread to cool before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
