- A soft and chewy homemade pretzel dough - Gooey cheddar stuffed inside - Minutes to make and always a hit appetizer
- Active yeast - Water - Brown sugar - Salt - All-purpose flour - Cheddar cheese
- Baking soda - Egg white - Unsalted butter
Dissolve yeast in warm water until foamy. Mix in sugar, salt, and flour and knead bread dough until smooth and elastic. Cover and allow to rest 20 minutes.
Divide dough into 8 even pieces (we recommend weighing for accuracy) and roll into smooth balls.
Flatten each dough ball and place a cube of cheddar cheese in the center of each. Wrap dough around cheese, pinching edges to seal.
Bring 8 cups water to boil in a medium pot. Dissolve baking soda in water and add dough balls. Boil 1 minute and transfer to a sheet pan.
Space dough balls apart on sheet pan. Brush dough balls with egg wash and sprinkle with sea salt
Bake pretzel bites at 425F 12-15 minutes until a deep golden brown. Remove bites from oven and brush with melted butter. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!
