In a small bowl, combine chili powder, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, brown sugar, and lime zest. Rub seasoning mix all over chicken thighs.
Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat or lightly grease and heat a grill pan on stovetop.
Grill chicken over medium-high heat, turning occasionally until chicken registers 165F. Remove chicken from grill and squeeze fresh lime juice over top. Serve chicken warm and enjoy!
