Chase away the winter chill with this eggnog hot chocolate that features winter spices, rich eggnog, and sweet hot chocolate all in one drink! Enjoy this easy holiday sipper hot or cold with lots of whipped cream on top.
Whisk egg yolks until smooth in a medium bowl. Set aside for a moment.
Whisk milk, heavy cream, sugar, molasses, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt together in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat until steaming. Slowly drizzle 1 cup warm milk mixture into egg yolks, beating constantly until smooth.
Add egg yolk mixture to saucepan and cook over medium heat, whisking occasionally until mixture is slightly thickened.
Remove pan from heat and whisk in chocolate and vanilla until chocolate is melted. Strain liquid through a fine-mesh sieve.
Serve eggnog hot chocolate warm or chill several hours and enjoy cold with whipped cream and grated nutmeg on top. Enjoy!
