Spiced Eggnog Hot Chocolate

Instructions

  • Whisk egg yolks until smooth in a medium bowl. Set aside for a moment.
  • Whisk milk, heavy cream, sugar, molasses, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt together in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat until steaming. Slowly drizzle 1 cup warm milk mixture into egg yolks, beating constantly until smooth.
  • Add egg yolk mixture to saucepan and cook over medium heat, whisking occasionally until mixture is slightly thickened.
  • Remove pan from heat and whisk in chocolate and vanilla until chocolate is melted. Strain liquid through a fine-mesh sieve.
  • Serve eggnog hot chocolate warm or chill several hours and enjoy cold with whipped cream and grated nutmeg on top. Enjoy!
