Baked in a skillet and loaded with lots of fresh ginger flavor, this ginger apple crisp is incredible warm with ice cream or whipped cream and destined to become a fall staple!

Ingredients

Apple Filling

  • 6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/2-in cubes (fuji, gala, honeycrisp, etc)
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

Apple Filling

  • Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly grease a 9-inch cast iron skillet and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, combine all filling ingredients. Spread into the bottom of prepared skillet.

Crisp Topping

  • In a medium bowl, combine oats, flour, pecans, sugar, spices, and salt. Drizzle butter over topping and toss until mixture is crumbly.
  • Sprinkle topping over apple filling. Bake crisp at 350F 30-35 minutes until filling is bubbly and topping is golden brown.
  • Cool crisp on a cooling rack 10 minutes then serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

Storing Instructions
Store apple crisp in refrigerator up to 6 days. Reheat individual servings in microwave.
