Real pumpkin, lots of fall spices, and caramel syrup come together in this caramel pumpkin spice latte that you can easily whip up at home in minutes!

PSL season is back, baby! So naturally, I’m sharing my jazzed-up version of this Starbucks cult favorite.
Sorry to be the one to tell ya, but you may be breaking up with Starbucks for the foreseeable future because this latte ticks ALL the fall boxes.
You’ll be shocked at how easy it is to make this fall favorite at home and the best part is won’t be paying extra for a double or a triple size either!

Caramel syrup is our not-so-secret ingredient here today and it adds an extra depth of flavor to this latte that pairs incredibly well with all that pumpkin spice goodness.
REAL pumpkin, mind you, not just flavoring! This latte not only has real pumpkin puree in it but also lots of accompanying spice flavor from pumpkin pie spice.
This Pumpkin Spice Latte features…
- Rich brewed espresso
- Steamed milk with creamy pumpkin, spices, and caramel syrup
- Ready in minutes and a budget-friendly alternative to Starbucks

Making the Pumpkin Spice Latte
(scroll down to the bottom of the post for the full recipe)
Ingredients You Will Need
- Milk
- Coffee syrup
- Pumpkin puree
- Vanilla extract
- Pumpkin pie spice
- Espresso

Tips for Perfect Pumpkin Spice Latte
- Foam milk – you can use a foam wand or the steam function on an espresso machine.
- Use caramel syrup – you’ll find this in the coffee section of most grocery stores. Be aware, caramel syrup is different than caramel sauce as it is a thinner, more syrupy texture that incorporates easier into drinks.
- Brew espresso – I highly recommend using freshly-brewed espresso if you can for these lattes. If you don’t have access to an espresso machine use very strong-brewed coffee instead.
Recipe Variations
Try these ideas for a different twist on this latte.
- Use another coffee syrup – try a butterscotch, brown sugar, pumpkin spice, apple, or vanilla syrup in place of the caramel.
- Add chocolate – brew espresso over a square of semisweet or dark chocolate and mix until melted for a chocolate version.
- Make it dairy-free – use oat or almond milk in place of the regular milk.
Iced Latte Instructions
If you would like to make these lattes iced instead of hot, skip the step of heating the milk and pour the espresso and milk mixture over ice instead.

One sip of this latte is all it’s gonna take to convince you to skip the Starbucks run for awhile! The rich caramel syrup compliments the creamy pumpkin and all those wonderful spices to perfection. Please excuse me while I run to the kitchen to brew up another.
Cheers to fall favorites like this made *so* much easier at home!

Yes! I LOVE PSL so this is life changing I tell ya! Not only will I get to save the extra change by making it at home, it would be so much fun to sport around a whipped cream mustache – my kids would get a total hoot out of that 🙂

Oh my word Sarah you have me drooling over here! How great do these look! And perfect timing, because I think Starbucks stops serving pumpkin spice lattes right about now, and switch to eggnog lattes. This will keep my PSL fix going all year long!
Sarah says
I know! Ordinarily I would be crushed that PSL season is over, but now I can make them at home so it’s all good. 😉 And omg, eggnog lattes are next on my to-do list. 😀
