This super-soft and moist banana bread is exploding with a double-delight of juicy berries and perfectly covered in a tangy cream cheese icing.
My banana bread archives tell me that it’s been exactly 80 days since my last banana bread recipe. SAY. WHAT.
I’m humiliated and disgraced to say the least for not showing more support towards my #1 breakfast love in the world.
Scratch that. My #1 love PERIOD. Sorry, future-boyfriends/future husband—banana bread is always gonna have my heart and you’re just gonna have to be content as #2.
The things that come outta my mouth on a Saturday….Oy.
Okay, so surely you guys are familiar with my perfect banana bread, right? If not, allow me to acquaint you.
Friends, meet heaven-in-a-loaf.
Heaven-in-a-loaf, meet friends.
YAY. We’re all friends now, so let’s talk about the sequel #8294 on this banana bread.
The berry-filled, cream-cheese-icing-topped one. Yeah, that one. It’s a good one.
Each slice of this banana bread is exploding with two kinds of berries, so soft you’ll scream from joy, and the icing…um, just get me a spoon, please and thank you.
Let’s be honest here: Anything involving a drippy, gooey icing is gonna be hard to photograph, yes? Well this banana bread proved to be no exception, so I apologize for the weirdly-styled photos. You also must remember that I was in an unbelievable hurry to dig into a piece or twenty.
Anywho, I finished my train-wreck of a photoshoot and then called out, who wants some hot-mess banana bread?!!
The name I used must have stirred some interest, because it brought EVERYONE to the kitchen, where they then proceeded to eat ALL of hot-mess banana bread.
Although I will say that Rachel was very suspicious at first of the name, because she asked me, “Sarah, what does a hot banana bread that’s messy taste like?”
Like heaven, my darling. It just looks like a 4-year old made it.
Thankfully, people around here don’t care too much for looks. They care about the taste, and ‘boy did they wolf down that banana bread. I only managed to grab one piece, which trust me: I was less than thrilled about.
That being said, a little friendly advice. Once this banana bread is made you must HIDE IT and hide it well! I’ve yet to figure out how I can hide things from myself, because that’s kinda the biggest threat here… If you ever figure this out, do feel free to let me know. 😉

The drippier and messier the baked good the better! I think your pictures turned out great! Surprised you were even able to get pictures of them before digging in. I love that you added berries to the banana bread! Off to get the recipe : )

I so agree! Banana bread is one of the best things ever!!! I’m embarrased to admit that I have like 20 frozen bananas in the freezer right now just waiting to be turned into banana bread! I love all the added berries in this one!!! And I could eat cream cheese frosting with a spoon, so I’m pretty much in love with this awesome bread, Sarah!!!

Those bananas are just begging to be thrown into this banana bread, girl! Perfect timing. 😀 Thanks Izzy!
