Packed with peanut butter and jelly flavors and loaded up with THREE sources of protein, this simple smoothie is a healthy breakfast must!
PB and smooth-YAY! Take that, Hump Day!
Hi, friends. Yeah, I obviously went there again with the pb&j love. First cookies then smoothies. Would you ever believe that this girl used to be a pbj sandwich-hater?
Anywho. So I’m still trying to get the healthy but-still-so-gosh-darn-good stuff back into my life post-Florida and this smoothie is totally fitting into that category right now.
And kindaaaaa working it’s way into my blender daily which is A-ok with me. I mean, it’s PROTEIN, guys! The healthy stuff! Never mind all those ugly rumors about pb&j being bad for the diet—when combined with loads of protein in smoothie form no less, it absolutely fits the healthy bill.
Ahhh, I love it when I can sound so convincing. I totally convince even myself. 😉
There are three (count ’em!) THREE different sources of protein in this smoothie. No, seriously! I wasn’t kidding around when I put the innocent little word “protein” in the title.
We have…
- Greek yogurt
- Protein powder
- Peanut butter
Paired with strawberry jelly, frozen sliced strawberries, a frozen banana, and just a splash of milk. And that is IT! This smoothie probably isn’t even “officially” a recipe just because it’s that freaking easy.
And obviously SO freaking good. It’s got BIG pb&j flavors in every sip, it’s so ultra-creamy (gosh, I missed my Vitamix these past two weeks!) and you seriously would never guess that there’s so much awesome protein packed inside.
Pssssssst! It’s a great way to get your kids to eat (or drink!) more protein too! I mean, what kid doesn’t love pb&j all the things??
I was that weird kid that despised even those words alone. Thank goodness THAT insanity has passed.
My insanity now? Clearly, it’s this smoothie. In fact, I kinda need to go make another.
And I mean, seriously. Peace out, guys. ♥

Just made it! Most fun-tasting smoothie ever!! Even my husband, who isn’t excessively boisterous with his compliments (understatement), took one sip and went HMMMMMM!, this is really good! Then, since I drank 4/5th of it and only gave him 1/5th ’cause initially he wasn’t going to have any (bad decision on his part but working in favor for me), he took a banana and wiped out the rest of the smoothie from his glass, yep, he did. Believe me, Sarah, you should now be inducted into the Smoothie Hall of Fame.
Sarah says
Haha yay! It sounds like you definitely found a new fav, Kathy! How fun that your husband loved it too! 🙂
