- Honey
- Garlic
- Hot sauce
- Red pepper flakes
- Salmon
- Broccoli
- Rice
- Green onions
Choosing Your Salmon
You will need about 1-1/2 lbs of salmon for this recipe. We recommend buying a side of salmon and cutting into 4 uniform fillets.
We strongly recommend using skinless salmon for this recipe, but if you’re nervous about removing the skin from the delicate salmon fillets yourself, feel free to leave it on, roast skin-side down, and peel off after baking.

Tips for Perfect Hot Honey Salmon
- Use red pepper flakes and hot sauce – we find that this combo gives just the right amount of heat to the sauce. Feel free to use more or less the recipe calls for based on your personal heat preference.
- Simmer sauce – this helps all the ingredients melt and meld together into a cohesive sauce.
- Reserve a bit of sauce for drizzling after baking – this adds one last little punch of hot honey flavor to the salmon. If you find the sauce separating after sitting, reheat on the stovetop or in microwave a few seconds until cohesive.
- Do not overbake salmon – we prefer roasting the salmon until it reaches an internal temp of 130F which will give you a super juicy and buttery texture. If you find that the salmon is done before the broccoli is tender, remove it from the oven and continue roasting broccoli.
Recipe Variations
Try these ideas for a different twist on this salmon.
- Try a different vegetable – try sweet pepper, asparagus, green beans, sweet potatoes, or cauliflower.
- Make it with chicken – try roasting boneless skinless chicken thighs in place of the salmon. Be aware the chicken will take a bit longer to cook.
Serving Suggestions
We recommend serving this salmon and broccoli warm from the oven over a bed of steamed rice with lots of sliced green onions sprinkled on top. It’s also incredible alongside a big salad for a low-carb option!

The combination of sweet, buttery, and spicy flavors from the hot honey paired with the fork-tender salmon and roasted broccoli is actually a flavor pairing like NO other in this dream of a dinner!
You’re doing it wrong if this isn’t on your menu at least once a week, trust me.
