Get your sweet tooth fix without the extra calories! These light smoothies are sweet, creamy, and loaded with tons of fresh berries. A perfectly healthy summer breakfast or snack choice!
Sometimes simple food is just the best. Especially when your life is crazy at the moment.
Like mine, for example. As I type, I am practically buried under a pile of dirty dishes and in the midst of a MAJOR house cleaning. Why? Because I’m the co-host, if you will, for my oldest brother, Daniel’s college graduation party this Sunday.
Yeah, so today’s post is gonna have to be short and sweet. I have a to-do list about 5 miles long.
Send me coffee. It’s going to be a long day.
My other co-host (aka: my mom) just so happens to be in New York for a few days, so guess who’s in charge of the prep work for the party? Yours truly.
Thankfully, I’m not alone. My sister-in-law, Jessica has been staying here since yesterday afternoon to help out with all the cleaning and cooking, just so I don’t collapse from exhaustion. (hey, Jess!)
With life being so crazy right now, I’ve been craving simplicity and really anything super-easy. So let’s talk about these smoothies, shall we?
For something so simple, these smoothies sure do pack a punch. They’re bursting with berry flavor and unbelievably smooth and creamy. It’s like a party in a glass. š
Yes, I serve my smoothies in wine glasses. Almost like having a cocktail for breakfast. š
You know, it hit me a few days ago that I don’t have a SINGLE smoothie recipe on my blog. WHAA?? Sorry, that’s just not working for me. I make smoothies all the time, but somehow never end up sharing them with you guys.
Since summer is right around the corner and tons of fruits are coming into season, I’d say now would be a perfect time to change that.
Contrary to the title, these smoothies do not have any cream in them. Just basic, natural ingredients that you probably always have on hand.
These smoothies are heavy on the berries, along with a ripe banana, a touch of yogurt, a splash of milk and that’s really all there is! You don’t even need to add any extra sweetener to this smoothie, because the berries provide plenty of natural sweetness.
These smoothies are SO perfect for summer! They’re cool, refreshing and the perfect snack or breakfast choice, for when you’re craving something sweet, but don’t want something really heavy or rich. See these brownies, if your sweet tooth is begging for something totally decadent. š
I crave berries in nearly any form during the summer, but a classic berry smoothie is by far one of my favorite ways to enjoy them.
I’m kind of just in love with this smoothie’s gorgeous color and it’s fresh, natural taste. Health food at it’s tastiest, for sure. š
Now on that note, I’m off to bake 2 dozen yellow cupcakes and a ginormous chocolate sheet cake. Wish me luck! Ha-ha. š
Happy Friday, guys!
