These tequila sunrise slushies are a frozen twist off of the classic cocktail and they’re SO easy to blend up! Make a double batch because these sippers are gonna disappear fast.
So it’s been nearly 4 months since my 21st birthday, friends. And yet, this is only the first alcoholic drink I’ve shared with you since then.
It’s a doozy though. A boozy doozy? We’ll roll with that.
I mean, it is a freaking TEQUILA SUNRISE in slushy form, friends. With homemade grenadine syrup, mind you.
Our Friday priorities are clearly just on point today. Blender-fuls of these on standby for tonight? Good game plan.
Soooooo. We all down for taking 5 minutes of our life to make the life-changing tequila sunrise slushies? The only answer here is YAAAAS.
Super simple steps, guys! >>>
- Grenadine syrup! Honestly, you could just buy your own, but making it is seriously the easiest thing ever! It’s just pomegranate juice and sugar. Reduce it for a few minutes on the stove and you’re good to go.
- Slushies. Orange juice, lime juice, tequila, and ice is all that’s going in that blender. I’m so serious about how freaking easy these are to pull off, guys! Blend it all up until slushy consistency and definitely taste test. (wink, wink)
Pour the slushies in your glasses (preferably chilled glasses) and top ’em off with a gorgeous drizzle of grenadine syrup.
Then, sip, sip, repeat. ??
It’s a good Friday to sip on these all evening tonight, friends. Also, these are getting me super pumped for SUMMER, how about you??
Any other spring/summer cocktails you’d like to see in the near future? Taking requests!!

Grenadine Syrup
- In a small saucepan, bring juice and sugar to a simmer over medium-high heat, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for about 10 minutes until slightly reduced and thickened. Pour sauce into small jar and set aside to cool.
Tequila Sunrise Slushies
- In a high-speed blender, blend orange juice concentrate, lime juice, tequila, and ice until completely smooth.
- Pour slushy into 3 chilled glasses and drizzle cooled grenadine syrup over top (it will settle on bottom but this is totally okay!) Serve slushies immediately and enjoy!
More easy cocktails you wanna get in on!

This looks so good! I also just turned 21 and I still haven’t tasted that much alcoholic drink. Maybe I’d try this recipe and see how it tastes. Thanks for sharing, Sarah. Cheers!

Thank you for the interesting recipe, Sarah! I will definitely make this cocktail next weekend. Honestly, I still haven’t used my new blender for alcohol cocktails, and it will be a wonderful reason to try it. I am sure the cocktail will be very tasty!
