SUPER-QUICKIE, last-minute 4th of July recipe for y’all today.
In other news, HAPPY (early) 4th of July to all my American friends!
Now, let’s talk corn on the cob.
My summer is pretty much incomplete until I bite into that sweet, juicy and oh-so messy ear of corn. So what better way to celebrate the 4th than with one of most summery foods on the planet?
Have you guys EVER tried corn-on-the-cob on the grill?? Oh MY GAWSH. I have been missing out on something AWESOME for years. Every single summer I end up having to steam up my kitchen boiling water to cook my COTC, never knowing that the solution was right under my nose.
My grill is not just for hamburgers anymore. Currently, I’ve been using it more to grill veggies than even meat.
I’m obsessed with grilled veggies as you can see here and here. 😉
Now, we’ve gotta talk about this basil butter.
AKA: Buttery heaven.
It’s just salted butter, fresh basil, and a pinch of garlic powder, but WOWZERS you guys, this stuff is GOOD.
And it goes amazingly well with your juicy, golden sweet corn. Y-U-M.
I just don’t do plain corn-on-the-cob in the summertime. My corn has gotta have SOMETHING fun on it, otherwise I’m just bored.
Naked corn on the cob can go home and make way for the good stuff.
The GREEN stuff, shall we say.
Just look at how naked that corn looks. Sadness, people.
‘Slather on the GREEN stuff.
Much better.
*chomp, chomp, chomp.*
You may end up having an adorable green mustache after you eat THIS corn on the cob. Fair warning. 😉
You’ll also probably have corn stuck in your teeth for days. (please tell me I’m not the only one)
Lately, corn-on-the-cob has been making nearly daily appearances on my grill and yes, I’m making it AGAIN tomorrow for the 4th festivities.
P.S. I hope you guys enjoyed all my 4th of July recipes I shared this year! If you want to see them all in one place, go here.—- Hope you’re hungry. 😉
SO, to all my American friends: What are you doing to celebrate the holiday tomorrow? I’ve got a houseful of people coming over for a big get-together and I’m fixing an all-American barbecue worthy of a king. These burgers on top of these hamburger buns, this fruit salad, this potato salad, ect…
I just finished eating breakfast but I’ve decided I’m hungry agaaaaaain.
Happy 4th of July you guys! Now go eat some sweet corn!
