This simple BBQ pulled chicken cooks entirely in the crockpot and hungry game-day guests won’t believe that it comes together with only 2 ingredients!
Hi. My name is Sarah and I freaking love my crockpot.
Hello, easy-peasy barbecue pulled chicken. I like you too.
Oh, you like all these things too? Yay! Let’s be friends.
Because we’re all friends here, I’m shoving TWO things in ‘yo face today. The first one is pretty obvious → THIS CHICKEN. (you’re welcome)
#2. The giveaway. I teamed up with several amazing bloggers and we’re all giving away a $200 Amazon giftcard! All the deets are at the end of this post, so keep reading.
For now? We’re gonna talk ’bout the pulled chicken. And my crazy-obsessive love for my crockpot and barbecue sauce. Get comfy.
I feel almost guilty to call this pulled chicken a recipe, simply because it is SO DANG EASY. Two ingredients! Crockpot! I’m sorry, but you know I’m a sucker for the simple.
Right.
Seriously though, your crockpot literally does ALL the elbow grease, back-breaking work for game-day with these pulled chicken sammies. Ha.
Did you hear that? I think it’s me squealing a little bit over here….
Go to the great effort to throw some chicken breasts and barbecue sauce into the labor-saver (i.e. crockpot) and then let ‘er cook low and slow….
….4-6 hours later…that gorgeous chicken should be perfectly tender and your house should smell more or less amazing. Shred up that chicken while it’s still hot and then back into the crockpot it goes for about 1 more hour. At this point, you may choose to add more barbecue sauce to your pulled chicken, depending on how thick/liquidy you like it.
P.S. You may use whatever brand of barbecue sauce you like, but can I just say that homemade is so. darn. amazing? This is the only BBQ sauce I use! It’s spoon-in-the-jar worthy.
The sauce. The melt-in-your-mouth-tender chicken. The bread. GAH. Sogood.
Jazz up your personal sandwich with ALL the works your heart desires. I’m so boring and I usually just pile on the extra BBQ sauce onto mine…..
Like a lot. Hey, I like my sauce ok?
Now this is a sandwich. I am obsessed.
Your game-day guests will be obsessed. And you will feel like a crockpot-BOSS!
Yeah, you’re gonna want to invest in a napkin or 20. Things are ‘fixin to get deliciously-messy. 😉

Well this is just amazing! 2 ingredients, and in the slow cooker? The best! I love pulled chicken. My mom used to make it every year on Halloween when we were little, and I totally forgot about that until seeing this recipe. Thanks for the trip down memory lane : )

Have you made this with a grocery store rotiserrie chicken?
Thank you
Sarah says
I have not, however you can certainly try it!

Made this yesterday using 3:1 sugar-free hi hickory: Stubb’s Sweet Heat BBQ sauces. I had to cook 10 hours on low in my slow cooker (it is a cherished gift from my mom who passed 18
18 years ago so it’s here to stay). It shredded beautifully and is very tasty! Such an easy recipe – I love that kind of cooking.

Made this and used 1/2 the bbq sauce, 1 can crushed pineapple with juice, 4chic breasts. Cooked, shredded and added the remaining bbq. Yummy over sticky rice or on sandwich buns with Famous Dave’s Dave’s pickles!!

Thanks for sharing your modifications, Charlene! Love the sound of adding pineapple.
