Ultimately creamy and packed with sausage and a mild pumpkin flavor, this pumpkin sausage alfredo penne is going to become your favorite fall comfort food!
I feel as though today is just a Pumpkin Sausage Alfredo Penne pasta kinda day.
From here on out I might just proclaim EVERY day as so.
So today is obviously the first Thursday in November so that means that it’s time for another round of 30-Minute Thursdays brought to you by myself and a bunch of my best blogging gals!
And really what 30-minute dinner shouldn’t be cozy, comforting, and loaded with pasta?
Clearly, comfort food = my downfall. My very large and completely glorious downfall that I totally embrace.
Please picture this for a minute if you will: Penne pasta smothered in DREAMY pumpkin alfredo sauce and accompanied by enough sausage to build a house.
Comfort food taken to new and slightly-hazardous heights. Help.
WAIT. Don’t go! Let me explain what’s all up in the carbs 101 today.
It goes something like this. —>
Pumpkin meets alfredo sauce.
Pumpkin alfredo sauce meets penne pasta with CHEESE.
All of the above meets itty-bitty sausage slices.
Everything gets thrown in one pan and then takes a one-way trip to my belly.
The end. And they lived happily e’r after.
PLEASE do not go all judgy-judgy on me over the addition of pumpkin in the alfredo sauce! Trust me on this one, guys: Pumpkin in savory form is the literal BOMB. It’s not overpowering in the least bit in this pasta.—It only lends a mild fall-ish flavor and boosts out an UNREAL creamy texture that I really could not possibly love any more. ♥
Gold star going your way if you use homemade pumpkin puree! It absolutely makes a difference. 😉
It’s literally pumpkin heaven. Seriously, it’s MADNESS how amazing this pasta is.
My family has formed a recent serious obsession with this pasta, just to give guys an idea of how amazing. Rachel topped everyone the other night in the multiple-helpings department and polished off three platefuls.
Yeah, that same uber-picky 5-year old sister I speak of frequently. I KNOW!
My point? If a 5-year old adores this pasta, the chances are likely you’re going to become addicted by the awesomeness.
Really. So much cozy carb goodness to LOVE.
The time for all reason has passed. We should just dive in and get on with it. 😉

I made this yesterday to take to mom and some friends at the nursing home. I didn’t take it, because it tasted like pie mixed with dinner. Shame on me! I came home and tasted after the pasta had some time to meld and combine flavors. HOW AWESOME!!
I will be making this again next week to take to mom and friends, this is addicting!
Thank you for this lovely recipe!
