Choosing Your Bread
This toast works well with a variety of bread types! I typically like to go with a heartier bread such as ciabatta or Italian, but any kind works! This recipe also works great with sourdough, French, whole wheat, challah, or even focaccia.
Tips for Perfect Peach Toast
- Choose slightly firm peaches – you will want to choose ripe, yet slightly firm to the touch peaches so they don’t lose their shape during roasting.
- Cut peaches in uniform size – slice the peaches in uniform 1/4-inch thick slices so they all roast evenly.
- Bring burrata to room temperature – the burrata will spread much easier onto the toast at room temperature.
- Serve toast immediately after assembly – this will ensure that all the ingredients are fresh and the toast crispy!
Recipe Variations
Try these ideas for a different twist on this toast.
- Use a different cheese – try fresh mozzarella, ricotta, cream cheese, or mascarpone in place of the burrata.
- Try a different fruit – apricots, nectarines, or plums would be great in place of the peaches.
- Make it vegetarian – skip the prosciutto for a vegetarian-friendly toast.
- Use a different nut – try toasted pecans, pine nuts, or walnuts in place of the almonds.
Talk about a breakfast toast with the most! The honey-roasted peaches are sweet, juicy, and absolutely killer with all that rich burrata cheese and salty prosciutto on the sturdy toasted ciabatta slices.
Don’t forget the sprinkle of fresh basil on top, it adds the perfect final punch of fresh flavors!
