Super-creamy and loaded with banana and chai flavors, these luscious smoothies are a perfect post-workout energy boost!
You guys, you guys, you GUYS!!!
VITAMIX.
I am now the proud owner of a Vitamix. Well okay, the co-owner—I’m sorta sharing with my mom.
Okay, I’ll admit she bought it. BUT she specifically said that she’ll share so I’m sticking to that.
It’s mostly mine though…..mostly…
Seriously though, I am SO PUMPED. My old blender was really so terrible and my chunky smoothies definitely told me so. *cringe*
I never really was a smoothie kinda-girl to begin with but now that I have this new toy? I’m slowly getting converted.
Those smooth-as-silk smoothies? Nothing beats ’em. Good grief, I think ME of all people is turning into a smoothie snob!
Oh, and in case you’re wondering no, Vitamix did not pay me to say all this stuff. I’m just seriously crushing on my new kitchen toy is all. ♥
If you think my smoothie craze is bad, you should meet my mother. Otherwise known as Mrs. Smoothie. She’s seriously been cranking out THEEEE most amazing smoothies in the world. Maybe it’s the new blender, or maybe my mom is just a smoothie mad genius, I donno but she’s seriously got the smoothie touch.
The other day she whipped up this ah-maaaaaazing tropical-flavored green smoothie with fresh mint blended inside. I seriously could not stop sipping. ♥
Today’s smoothie? This is one of her creations too. My mom is slightly obsessed with chai spice and even makes her own. Then…she made the best decision of the year and decided to throw it into her banana smoothie.
Oh. My. Yum. I’m telling you, for something that sounds and LOOKS as simple as this smoothie is, you would never expect it to taste as epic as it does.
When my mom first asked me to taste-test this smoothie, I was kinda skeptical at the idea of banana and chai spice together, but I’m always up for an adventure, so I started sipping….
And just like that I seriously could not stop. ♥
Then I kinda had to steal the glass right outta her hands. Sorry?
The spices. The spot-on banana flavor. The creaminess. My newly-obsessed smoothie self goes crazy.
We took a momentary break yesterday from 12 Days of Superfood Recipes, BUT we’re coming back in full force today. There’s all kinds of superfood goodness going in these smoothies.
Bananas. They’re the star of the show here.
Chia seeds. YES. One of my fav super-foods!
Protein powder. Okay, this isn’t an actual super-food, BUT it adds so much healthy protein goodness to these smoothies! I add a spoonful to nearly all of my post-workout smoothies. 😉
All you’re gonna need for today’s sipper is the following →
Frozen bananas, milk, maple syrup, chai spice, protein powder, chia seeds, and vanilla go into the blender….
Blendy-blend.
Vrooom, vrooom!!
Sippity-sip.
Grab a glass, friends! It’s delish and good for you. 🙂

My favorite drink at Starbucks is their Chai Tea Latte. And I’ve owned a Vitamix for years. But I never put two and two together and tried to make a “chai smoothie” at home.
This is a fantastic recipe! Two thumbs up.
