You’ll feel like you took a trip to the tropics after one sip of these icy-cold, tropical-style margarita slushies! You’re only 5 minutes and a few basic ingredients away.
You so did not see these coming. Even after yesterday’s clever little forshadow/slip of the tongue of margaritas vs. veggies.
The margaritas are clearly WINNING today.
TGIF, friends. And a happy last day of JULY! (whaaaa??)
So it’s story-time. A few weeks ago when my sister was in town, all the adults decided that even though I’m not “legally” the drinking age, I absolutely needed to make everyone boozy drinks.
I was just like, ME?! Guys, anyone that knows me knows that I’m kind of a small person and literally cannot even handle alcohol in my system unless I want my brain to turn to complete fuzz.
So I sip here and there and more-or-less sample the booze, but that’s pretty much it. I’m probably the most responsible 18-year old you’ll ever meet in that regard.
But you know what? It turns out that even though I am absolutely the worst judge of how much or how little of alcohol to throw into a drink, I can actually make some pretty mean tropical margarita slushies if I do say so myself….
At least, that’s what my older siblings said. After a few sips, the whole fam told me that I should just skip culinary school and go straight to bar-tending.
Yeah, that’ll happen uh, NEVER I’m hoping, guys…
Anyway. I had only a few sips of this slushie only because my sister said that I had to at least TRY some (she filled my glass practically to the top I might add) and whoa, guys….it’s a good thing that I have self-control around things like this because just…..whoa.
All the tropical goodness. Surrounded by all the booze and ALL the icy-cold slush.
Summer ‘sippin. Gotta loooove it! ???
I decided you guys probably needed the recipe because EVERYONE needs this kind of heaven.
I’m here to tell ‘ya that you do NOT have to have a degree in bar-tending (hahaha) or even a bunch of super-expensive/fancy ingredients in order to make a killer drink. If your pantry is anything like mine, chances are you already have everything you need to make these beauts!
That was huge hint-hint there, by the way. *cough cough*
Frozen pineapple, lime juice, orange juice concentrate, coconut sugar, triple sec, tequila, and a handful of ice cubes is literally all you need! And your blender. Have I mentioned lately that I heaaaaart my Vitamix??
I kinda β₯ the contents even more though.
See this here? It’s called Friday/andalsoeveryothernightoftheweek PAR-AD-ISE.
The only thing that could possibly make these drinks even better? LITTLE PAPER UMBRELLAS. Do it.!

How can I make this alcohol free? What would you add in place of the alcohol?
Hi Jennifer! In place of the tequila and triple sec, you could use pineapple juice or some other kind of fruit juice.
Any variation of margaritas are good with me! But these do sound delicious. I recently did a spicy pickled margarita, that if you like salty and sweet you will love this recipe. Check it out http://spoiledtoperfection.com/blog/blog/2016/03/28/pickled-cocktails-spicy-pickled-margarita/
