Dinner practically makes itself with this crockpot sweet potato sausage chili that cooks up entirely in the crockpot.—Totally the best kind of comfort food!
Yea, chili season!! It is ON like toppings on a bowl of chili!
Observe. —> Kinda like this. —> Yes. Exactly like this.
There are few things in the world that I love more in the world than a big ‘ol bowl of hot chunky sweet potato sausage chili heaped high with Toppings 101.
That’s secret code for *all things chili topping-worthy.*
Speaking of things I love…can we talk about all those wonderful chili smells? I mean, SERIOUSLY!
There are very few fragrances I drool over more when I walk in the door than the knock-ya-over-AWESOME smell of chili that’s happily been cooking away all day in my mighty little crockpot. It makes my day.
I mean, the smell alone is enough to make me want to forgo the soup bowl and just dive headfirst into the crockpot holding all the chili glory.
Okay, so you all know I’m in the middle of culinary school, right? Right. I make that obnoxiously obvious on Instagram. Anyway, my weekdays are nothing short of crazy so I’m on a mad search for all things easy in the dinner department.
In the obvious interest of making dinner easy-peasy but still totally the kinda comfort food I crave 24/7, I basically threw all of my favorite chili things into the crockpot, turned it on low and more or less forgot about dinner.
The good kinda forget, guys. Not the omg-I-forgot-I-put-that-chicken-in-oven-two-hours-ago. The kind that’s like, ahhhhh dinner’s making itself so I can chill and concentrate on those 5-foot stacks of homework.
‘Er, right. No Netflix involved at all. Promise.
What’s in the crockpot? Everything chili-awesome, including sausage. Oh, and sweet potatoes = YEA!
Because as you can clearly see here and here, I’m definitely no rookie when it comes to throwing sweet potatoes into my chili.
What’s on top? All the chili toppings your comfort food-cravin’ heart desires. I have an exhaustive list of suggestions in the recipe below if you need any inspiration. 😉
Are you now ready for the easiest chili of your life? Throw everything in the crockpot and forget about it!
At least until the bodacious chili smells begin to drive you bonkers a few hours later. Then you should probably dive into the pot, per my suggestion earlier. 😉
I’ll go first to show you how it’s done, okay?
