How to Prep Asparagus
The prep for this asparagus is very simple and requires only trimming the ends off and then cutting spears into 1-inch pieces.

Tips for Perfect Sautéed Asparagus
- Cut asparagus into uniform pieces – aim for uniform 1-inch pieces so the asparagus cooks at the same rate.
- Sauté asparagus in a single layer – choose a pan big enough so you can saute the asparagus in a single layer so it cooks evenly.
- Use fresh lemon, garlic, and dill – you can’t beat the flavor these fresh ingredients give the asparagus.
Recipe Variations
Try these ideas for a different twist on this asparagus.
- Add other vegetables – add a sauteed sweet pepper, mushrooms, or green beans.
- Make it meaty – add crispy bacon bits for a meaty addition.
- Use another citrus – swap out the lemon for lime.
- Try another cheese – swap out the Parmesan for feta or goat cheese.
