Super-creamy and loaded with a trio of cinnamon, chocolate, and oats, this filling breakfast smoothie is a sweet lighter breakfast indulgence and terrific energy boost!
I think it’s been established that I have a thing for smoothies. A freakish, crave-em-all-the-time kinda thing.
Smoothies with as long a title as this baby has? It can only mean amazing things.
Dump-a-bunch-of-yum-in-the-blender-and-let-er-WHIRL kinda things.
Can we talk about the fact that this here smoothie combines pretty much all the best things in the world?
Sorry for all the repeats. I’m kinda pumped/freaking out over here.
Anywho, we’ve got the cinnamon roll flavor. Oatmeal. Chocolate Chips. All in one glass for realz.
Sarah + This smoothie = True love. Muah.♥
Do you feel the love? I’m feeeeeeelin’ it!
And I’m sipping away on it. 😀
Helloooooo, Monday…Me and my smoothie are ready to take you on.
So enough about me and my new smoothie relationship. How was y’all’s weekend? Did you do anything fun? Cook up anything amazing?
*raises hand* ME! I submitted some college applications, toured a culinary arts college, and even got to see a professional kitchen that I will hopefully be cooking in next fall! (fingers and toes crossed that this school is the one!)
Then yesterday I went ice skating with the fam, fell on my butt a lot and generally made a fool outta myself but that’s okay. I like to entertain people and I’m pretty sure I did my job.
As for in the cooking department, I NAILED some healthy muffins (coming soon-ish) rocked a super-indulgent chocolate recipe (just you wait) and baked up yet another batch of these biscuits and ate yet another 1065 of them.
Last but not least, the final details of an upcoming little vacay for yours truly were finalized last night. (squeal! deets coming soon)
Successful weekend. DONE and DONE! Bring on this week.
Okay, back to the whole smoothie business. As you may have read back in this post, I recently became a Vitamix owner. Can you say SQUEAL?! I’m kinda obsessed by the perfect smoothness 99.9% of all my smoothies have now.
Today’s goodness? It didn’t disappoint in the smooth-department. Or flavor-wise either, obvi…
Best part? IT’S HEALTH FOOD, YO! Tastes totally indulgent, but it’s totally healthy and so filling!
Thanks to the addition of oats, this smoothie is pretty much just a breakfast in itself too.
Complete breakfast in smoothie form = The bomb. the end.
Grab a frozen banana, milk (I use skim to keep the calories lower) oats, chocolate chips (as many as ‘ya fancy!) a little bit of coconut sugar, a pinch of cinnamon, a splash of vanilla, and last but not least, protein powder, (totally optional, but I love the energy boost it gives this smoothie!)
Toss it all in your BFF the blender….
Blend ‘er up until it’s so smooth you could swim in it. Which, by the way, I totally want to do.
Lastly, sip away like smoothies are goin’ outta style.
Not possible, though. Smoothies are the Primo Uno and the bombety-bomb. KA-BOOM.
I may have just made that last one up…whatevs. You get it.
Now go get ‘yo smoothie on, ‘kay good.

One week later and this is now my go-to smoothie, I absolutely crave it. Once I added frozen banana slices that had been rolled in strawberry Greek yogurt. That was a nice twist. Or a splash of buttermilk adds a little zing. But honestly, the recipe is perfect as is. The tiny flecks of chocolate chips melt in your mouth, so delicious (and I thought I loved smoothies with cacao powder). I love your ideas of what great food is, Sarah – good old-fashioned food and not too fancy…yep, that’s me. Next I may try adding a dab of peanut butter…maybe, just because I drink it every day, might shake it up a speck from time to time. Thank you for sharing your wonderful culinary talents!
Sarah says
