This Smoothie features…
- A smooth and creamy texture
- Ripe banana and fragrant cinnamon
- Hearty oats and mini chocolate chips

Making the Smoothie
(scroll down to the bottom of the post for the full recipe)
Ingredients You Will Need
- Banana
- Quick-cooking oats
- Semisweet mini chocolate chips
- Brown sugar
- Vanilla protein powder
- Chia seeds
- Ground cinnamon
- Milk

Tips for Perfect Smoothies
- Freeze bananas – cubed frozen bananas eliminates the use for ice in this smoothie which will preserve a lot of flavor from the bananas.
- Use quick-cooking oats and mini chocolate chips – these ingredients will break down into a smooth texture once blended.
- Use your choice of milk – this recipe works great with 2%, skim, oat milk, or almond milk.
Recipe Variations
Try these ideas for a different twist on this smoothie.
- Use another chocolate – replace the semisweet chocolate with dark chocolate.
- Add more spices – try a pinch of nutmeg, cloves, or ginger.
- Try another sweetener – use honey or maple syrup instead of brown sugar.

Every component in this smoothie is just dynamite. The warm cinnamon is a dream with the creamy bananas, hearty oats, and those little flecks of chocolate in every sip.

Hi Laura! To answer your first question, I use vanilla protein powder. As far as nutritional info, I do not know that information, however you can easily find out here.

Awesome! Glad you loved this smoothie, Kathryn!
Kathryn Mader says
One week later and this is now my go-to smoothie, I absolutely crave it. Once I added frozen banana slices that had been rolled in strawberry Greek yogurt. That was a nice twist. Or a splash of buttermilk adds a little zing. But honestly, the recipe is perfect as is. The tiny flecks of chocolate chips melt in your mouth, so delicious (and I thought I loved smoothies with cacao powder). I love your ideas of what great food is, Sarah – good old-fashioned food and not too fancy…yep, that’s me. Next I may try adding a dab of peanut butter…maybe, just because I drink it every day, might shake it up a speck from time to time. Thank you for sharing your wonderful culinary talents!
Sarah says
