You’ll never go back to storebought again after one taste of this flavor-packed guacamole. Whips up in less than 5 minutes and the flavors are outta this world and perfect for your Cinco de Mayo bash!
I know. More green stuff on a Monday. It’s quickly becoming a thing around here I’ve noticed….
But ‘ya know what? I am A-OK with that. You totally should be too. The easy-peasy healthy green stuff is your FRIEND.
*insert tree emojji here* Happy belated Earth Daaaaaay!
Now. Let us discuss the title we’ve got goin’ on here. In case you missed it, I just made a pretty bold statement up there: Staring you right in the face is seriously The.Best.Guacamole.In.Zee.World.
In the history of all things green, guys.
The real deal guac your tortilla chips have been waiting for their life is now in your hands. Errrrr…on your chips.
Nope. The title just don’t lie.
So. Totally off-subject here, but am I the only one still REELING from Thursday night’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy?! I don’t want to give away any spoilers (like Facebook and Twitter pretty much already did) but, still. GUYS!! I’m still trying to pick up the pieces of my broken heart from what happened in that terrible episode.
My mom, sister and I were crying our eyes out pretty much this whole past weekend over the awful reality. So I made us all a huge personal bowl of guacamole to make us feel better. (our cappuccino maker got quite the workout this weekend too)
I mean, drowning your TV show problems with chips and big bowl of green stuff is just the only way to go. With extra-buttery cookies on the side too, of course.
And that right there, combined with a zoo trip in Milwaukee yesterday was my weekend. It was pretty suh-weeeet even though my heart is still semi-broken by the TV. I’m 100% convinced this guac helped though.
Avocados just have that healing power, I’ve heard.
So let us start our mission of making the best guacamole in the world shall we? At this point I’m gonna let the photos speak for me. Not entirely though. You know it’s kinda impossible for me to shut up. 😉
Start by selecting your avocados. Look for avocados that are well, perfect. Nice and soft but not overly squishy. Firm but not rock-hard either. Perfectly ripe avocados = A killer guac. Period.
Scoop out that green goodness, dice ’em up and throw it all in your prettiest bowl. Then sprinkle on the salt, pepper, lots of fresh cilantro (my favvvv!) and a touch of minced garlic.
Psssssssst! Secret ingredient!!! Squeeze some fresh lime juice into the mix. This will add a punch of awesome flavor to the guacamole and plus it keeps it a perfectly-pretty shade of green! WIN.
From there, grab a fork and go nuts with the mashing. Mash it up until the consistency you like best. I prefer mine slightly on the chunkier side so I only do minimal mashing, but if you like a smoother guac, go crazy.
Now grab that spoon, errrrrrr, CHIPS and taste-test. Add more salt and pepper if your tastebuds say so.
Or as I accidentally mentioned above: grab a spoon if your tastebuds are singing for MORE.
See? That wasn’t too hard was it? Seriously so simple, I’m almost embarrassed to call this a recipe. But seriously so amazing it could put that pre-made grocery store guacamole outta business.
Whoops. I think I just made you into a guacamole-snob. My bad.
Lastly, this guacamole could more or less MAKE your Cinco de Mayo bash which everyone knows requires a TON of guac. Guac by the gallon.
With a little bit of chips on the side if your name happens to be Sarah. 😉

So good! I usually don’t use cilantro but just as good without it.

I made this guacamole tonight, and I love it! I chose this recipe because it was the only one I could find that didn’t have tomato in it. I can’t eat raw tomato, so imagine my delight in discovering your recipe! To top that off, it’s delicious! This one’s a keeper!

So so thrilled to hear that, Cathy! Thanks for trying this guacamole and I hope you love it! 😀
